From the director of "Who Killed the Electric Car?" comes another film about the electric car industry. And, no, it’s not a sequel simply because that wouldn’t really make any sense. The first film was about the slashing of electric cars while this second film is about the EV’s mass production.
Either way, in ?Revenge of the Electric Car?, director Chris Paine takes us behind the scenes of Nissan, GM, and the Silicon Valley start-up Tesla Motors to get behind the story of the return of electric automobiles. For two years the film crew followed Bob Lutz, former Vice Chairman at GM; Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors; Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan; and Greg ?Gadget? Abbott, an auto enthusiast who independently converts gas cars into electric vehicles as they raced against each other to bring out their electric vehicles first. In the running was the Chevy Volt, the Nissan LEAF, the Tesla Roadster, and the Tesla Model S.
The movie is set to be in theaters in the Spring of 2011, but this trailer was released thanks to the dedication behind the fans of this Indie film who got online and hit the like button on the movie’s Facebook page. Filmmakers had said that once the film had received its 10,000th fan, the trailer would be released for all to see. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
