Michael Schumacher has no regrets

400x400_1292271108_spt_ai_italiangrandprix_fri_16

has admitted he "feels good" about his decision to race in Formula One again.

The German driver, who won the world Drivers' Championship seven times, has had a disappointing 2010 season. He had been expected to challenge for the title but ended the season ninth in the standings with 72 points.

He couldn't even beat his team-mate Rupert Keegan Eddie Keizan Al Keller Joe Kelly

TopSpeed Rendering: 2013 Porsche Cajun

Doesn’t it seem as though the veteran sports car manufacturers are hanging up their speedy baseball caps and whipping out some family-oriented fedoras? What’s worse is that at the top of the list of manufacturers selling out on the game is our beloved Porsche. Their most recent family-mover catastrophe is the Porsche Panamera, but before that was their first take on the family vehicle: the Porsche Cayenne. Now the Cayenne is getting a little pint-sized brother called the Porsche Cajun, and it seems as if all hell is breaking loose on the go-fast front.

Should we be this upset with Porsche? After all, the Cajun is ready to roll with a 3.0-liter V-6 producing 290 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. There might even be a Cajun Turbo S with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 in the works. This setup is rated at 350 hp. Each model will come with Porsche’s typical add-ons such as the Sport Chrono pack with launch control, excellent brakes with optional carbon-ceramic discs, wheels and tires, and a complete exhaust system including a switchable free-flow sport muffler.

Well, maybe we shouldn’t be all that upset. After all, people should be able to get their kids to school while also having their fun on the weekends. But if Porsche comes out with a pick-up truck called the Hot Tamale, we’re taking our business elsewhere. Until then, we’ll try to keep an open mind when it comes to the Cajun.

Check out our rendering of the 2013 Porsche Cajun, and let us know what you think of Porsche’s most recent ode to the family in the comments section below!

NASCAR: Patrick finishes 17th at Phoenix

Patrick finishes 17th at Phoenix By Diego Mejia Sunday, February 27th 2011, 07:21 GMT Danica Patrick improved on her previous form at Phoenix International Raceway by finishing 17th in Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Series event. After an eventful first race at the one-mile Arizona oval last November, Patrick had a smoother run this time around as she continues to build on her stock car experience, while pondering still a possible full-time move from IndyCar. Although Patrick managed to finished the race two positions shy of her top-15 target, she eventually finished three laps down on winner Kyle Busch as the 200 laps saw little incidents and long green-flag periods that did not allow her to recover ground and be in contention further up. '32 Ford Sedan Street Rod Is Done!

Influence is a big thing.  It can make you want to do something, do something like it, or not do something at all.  As a member of the Classic Plastic Model Club, I have seen several members' Street Rods over the last several months and it has influenced me to want to build one myself.  At the last meeting, member Dave Perkins brought in his AMT '32 5-Window Street Rod WIP and that was the push I needed to start this one.  I am building Revell's '32 Ford Sedan Street Rod kit with the Ford 302 engine and auto trans.  Unless I decide to put a Hemi in it! Surprise

For this build, I am using Testors One Coat Revving Red.  This is my first time using this paint.

More to come.....

My next project (Chevelle)

Hi Guys, This is my next project, actually first project in a couple of years. I am going to take this 72 chevelle, but I want to make a 71, to replicate a real one I used to own, Can anyone tell me what if any differences were made between the two years, I can't really see anything, body wise anyway. Also mine had a vinyl roof, so I will be trying my hand at that as well. I know of two procedures, masking tape, and splattering the spray paint in layers, does anyone know of any other procedures. Thanks to all who reply.

Saab 9-3 Griffin

Saab’s entry level compact car has received a refresh for the 2012MY, and it also has a new name to go along with it. Now called the 9-3 Griffin for the US version, the hot hatch will be getting some interior and exterior modifications, as well as a couple of new engines.

Starting off with the exterior, the 9-3 Griffin will be receiving new front bumpers and signature Saab ?ice block? headlamps to differentiate itself from the earlier versions of the second generations. This is followed by a new metallic trim for the interior, as well as updated leatherette seats and unique storage pockets on the sides of the front seats.

More engine options will also find their way into the 9-3 Griffin, alongside the usual mix of 1.9-liter TTiD twin turbo diesel engines producing either 130, 160, 180hp. These new engines will come in 2.0L petrol flavors with 163hp or 220hp.

Campaign launched to save Team Lotus

© Save Team Lotus
One side of the Lotus naming dispute has been put forward on a new and in-depth webpage called www.saveteamlotus.com. The basic background is that the Lotus Racing F1 team had its naming rights revoked for next season by Group Lotus and, in order to keep racing under the Lotus name, bought the Team Lotus brand off David Hunt, who had owned it since the original team?s last race in 1994. Group Lotus has now taken Lotus Racing to court to try and stop it using the historic name in Formula One next year. The issue has been a source of constant confusion for many fans and the new webpage offers a breakdown of David Hunt?s and Team Lotus? side of the argument.
