AMT 2000 Millinnium Special Edition ?

Hello everyone,

I was just curious, as to if anyone purchased this edition for your collection? I talked about it but only purchased a select few of this set. Then a very dear friend gave this set to me for my Birthday, in 2000. He has since passed, so this set has a very high sentimental value to me.

I am curious how the staff at Ertl co. decided on the kits that went into this set , A '64 Galaxie curbside kit then a '63

 the '64 Galaxie and the Dodge Dart stock car kits kind of seem like obscure picks to me.

5 Fords / 3 Chevys / 2 Dodge / 1 Studebaker and an AMT creation, nothing under '39 and nothing over '88 .

Kind of makes me wonder !

Any thoughts on this subject ?
